1. Review the usage of the verb ‘to be’ by asking the following questions:
(1) Is our school big ?
(2) Are your parents at work today ?
(3) Are you good at maths ?
(4) Is Mr Li your maths teacher ?
2. Add an ‘ s’ to the following verbs:

3.Fill in the blanks with the right forms of the given verbs:
(1) Cats ______(like ) fish .
(2) I _______( not watch ) TV every day .
(3) Bob _______often ( have )lunch at school.

(5) Kate ______( not wear ) glasses.
(6) We always ______(take )the bus to school

Step3. Presentation
Show a picture of football and say :
Look! It’s a football. I like playing football.
Do you like playing football ?
Yes, I do./ No, I don’t.
Does Simon / Kate like playing football?
Yes, he/ she does. / No, he/she doesn’t.
Do they like playing football?
Yes, they do./ No, they don’t.
Have the students read the sentences in the table on P13.
Learn how to ask and answer questions using the verb ‘to do’ in the simple present tense. Do the exercise in Part C on P14.
Work in pairs. Encourage the students to make up their own dialogues.
