A German dog in Alaska has been given a hero’s award for saving his owner’s house from a fire.Buddy guided a team of firefighters through winding roads to the house in an isolated (偏远的) area.
That day,his owner Ben Heinrichs was working on his truck inside his garage when a spark ignited some fuel and caught fire.

I suppose that the most basic and powerful way to connect to another person is to listen.Just listen.Perhaps the most important thing we ever give each other is our attention. And especially if it’s given from the heart. When people are talking, there’s no need to do anything but receive them.Listen to what they’re saying.Care about it.Most times caring about it is even more important than understanding it.Most of us don’t value ourselves or our love enough to know this.It
has taken me a long time to believe in the power of simple
saying “I’m so sorry,” when someone is in pain.
One of my patients told me that when she tried to tell her
story people often interrupted to tell her that they once had
something just like that happening to them. Her pain became
a story about themselves.Eventually she stopped talking to most people. We connect through listening. When we interrupt what someone is saying to let them know that we understand,we move the focus of attention to ourselves. When we listen, they know we care.
I have even learned to respond to someone crying by just listening. In the old days I used to reach for the handkerchiefs, until I realized that passing a person a handkerchief
may be just another way to shut him down,to take them out of their experience of sadness. Now I just listen. When they have cried all they need to cry, they find me there with them.
This simple thing has not been that easy to learn. It certainly went against everything I had been taught since I was very young.I thought people listened only because they were
too shy to speak or did not know the answer. But now I know
that a loving silence often has far more power to heal than the
kindest words.
71.What does the author value most in the communication with each other?
A.Deep understanding .
B.Saying “I’m sorry”.
C.Attention from heart.
D.Doing nothing.
72.The woman patient stopped telling her story to most people because________.
A.she didn’t get enough respect from others
B.she was discouraged by being often interrupted
C.people often told her their own opinions
D.people couldn’t understand her sad situation
73.If you hand a handkerchief to someone crying, you may________.
A.hurt his feelings
B.make him embarrassed
C.encourage him to continue to cry
D.stop him from letting out his sorrow
74.It can be inferred from the passage that while communicating,________.
A.listening is a perfect way to respond to others
B.people keep silent because they don’t know the answer
C.keeping silent means being too shy to speak
D.it is easy to form the habit of listening silently
75.Which of the following might be the author’s opinion about communication?
A.Keep silent.
B.Just listen.
C.Be careful.
D.Tell your own story.

The rise of the socalled “boomerang generation (回巢族)” is reported in official figures showing that almost one in five graduates in their late 20s now live with their parents.By contrast, only one in eight university graduates had failed to fly the nest by the same age 20 years ago, research from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) shows.
It also found that grownup sons are twice as likely as their sisters to still be living with their parents in their late 20s.
With nearly a quarter of men approaching 30 still living at home, the findings are bound to lead to the claim of a “generation of mummy’s boys”.
Rising housing prices, increasing student debts and the effects of depression on the job market have forced a wave of young people to move back into the family home at an age when they would normally________.
Young professionals in their late 20s or early 30s have been called the “boomerang generation” because of the trend toward returning to the family home.
Recent research has suggested that young people in Britain are twice likely to choose to live with their parents in their late 20s than their counterparts elsewhere in Europe.
But_experts_warned_that_the_phenomenon_may_have_more_to_do_with_young_people_facing_dark_future_than_simply_a_desire_to_save_money.
While the percentage of those of university or college age moving out from the family home has continued to rise in the last 20 years, among those in their mid and late 20s the trend has reversed.
Overall 1.7 million people aged from 22 to 29 now share a roof with their parents, including more than 760,000 in their late 20s,the ONS figures suggest.

(Text 10)
In Japan there are many beliefs.I will tell you some.A lot of Japanese believe that if you put a piece of snake skin into your wallet, you are going to become rich or find money.Snakes are a symbol of money and wealth. Some people believe the snake is an animal of God,so they never kill snakes.People say if you kill a snake, you will lose your money. Many Japanese say if someone finds a white snake,he will be lucky in life.Actually, some people put a picture of a white snake on the wall. The second belief is about sleeping.Japanese can’t fall asleep with their heads to the north because a dead person is always buried with his head to the north. It is believed that death welcomes someone who sleeps with his head to the north. The last one is about the number four.Four is an unlucky number because the number four has the same pronunciation as the word “death” in Japanese,so most people tend to avoid it and most hotels don’t use the number four.
I wouldn’t live there;well,not if I could help it.
23.D 下一句表示“我也未能想象出”,可以用Neither/Nor can I或Me,neither。
24.C in the coming summer vacation
祈使句的反意疑问部分一般用will you(否定句)或will you/won’t you(肯定句)。
It could be...that...;can/could用于疑问句中表推测,其他情态动词无此用法。
in addition to而且;in honor of为了纪念;in response to作为……
