霍金获奖不忘调侃英国脱欧

要说霍金是天才，一定不会有人有异议。

Speaking at the Daily Mirror's Pride of Britain Awards after receiving a Lifetime Achievement award, Professor Hawking joked: "I deal with tough, mathematical, complex questions every day but please don't ask me to help with Brexit ."

日前，在由《镜报》发起的“英国骄傲奖”颁奖典礼上，霍金获得终身成就奖。在发表获奖感言时，他调侃道：“我每天都在解决复杂的数学难题，英国脱欧的事情我实在是帮不上忙。”

【对于英国脱欧这事，霍金是拒绝的。据英国《独立报》报道，今年3月，霍金曾和英国皇家学会的150多名院士日前向《泰晤士报》联名写信发出警告，表示英国脱欧“对英国科学界和大学将是一场灾难”。霍金认为，留在欧盟能保证人员的流动性，从而促进不同背景人士的思想交流。此外，欧盟成立的研究资助机构欧洲研究理事会也能向英国科研机构提供资金支持。霍金支持英国留欧，但最终没能如愿。】

The professor spoke about the future and what it means for our children, but when he made a joke about Brexit to Prime Minister Theresa May's face it went down a storm.

Hawking also revealed his prediction for the future - a robot world where our children battle climate change .

霍金还预测未来将会是一个到处都是机器人的世界，孩子们也将迎来气候变化的硬仗。

"They have many things to look forward to such as the development of robots, driverless cars and computers that will win every game you play.

他说道：“有很多值得孩子们期待的东西，比如机器人、无人驾驶汽车，还有无论玩什么游戏都会赢过你的电脑。”

However, Professor Hawking, who has inspired millions all over the world with his battle against motor neurone disease, also warned that our children face a challenging future.

霍金教授与运动神经元疾病抗争的故事激励了全世界千百万人，同时他也预言：孩子们将会面临一个充满挑战的世界。

He said: "They will also face many challenges such as climate change and the effect that this will have on the world. I am sure the next generation will rise to these challenges."
