Do any of you remember the games you played as a child? Children nowadays don’t really know the meaning of real games apart from what is on their iPads, PlayStation and smart phones. Back then, playing games was a collective and outdoor activities rather than hunch over the TVs or computers. Let’s take a walk down memory lane of those games played in the good old times.
Chicken vs Eagle
One acts as the eagle, one the hen and the rest the chickens. The game goes like this: the “hen” and the “chickens” stand in a line with the “hen” in the very front spreading both arms to protect the “chickens” and each one clasping the clothes tail of the one right in front of it. The “eagle” should seek every opportunity to catch the “chicken”. If one “chicken” is caught, “it” should exchange the role with the “eagle”.
跳皮筋
Rubber band skipping
The game is typically played by three players with a rope of about 5–6 feet in length that has been tied into a circle. Two of the participants face each other about 3 feet apart, with their feet together, and position the rope around their ankles so that it is taut. The third player (the jumper) then stands between the two sides of the rope and must accomplish a specific series of moves without making an error or pausing.
滚铁环
Iron ring pushing
It is a child's game in which a large hoop is rolled along the ground, generally by means of an implement wielded by the player. The aim of the game is to keep the hoop upright for long periods of time or to do various tricks.
折纸
Paper folding
It is a form of origami used in children's fortune-telling games. A player asks a question, and the fortune teller operator answers using an algorithm to manipulate the fortune teller's shape. Questions, answers, colors or numbers may be written on the fortune teller.
跳房子
Hopscotch
Hopscotch is a popular playground game in which players toss a small object into numbered spaces of a pattern of rectangles outlined on the ground and then hop or jump through the spaces to retrieve the object.
