1.minimum n.最小值the least of a set of numbers）；a．最低值（the lowest）

词根记忆：mini(小)+mum--最小值

例：minimum wage最低工资

2.minivan n.小型货车(a small passenger van)

词根记忆：mini(小)+Van（厢式货车）--小型货车

例：Minivans carry as many as seven passengers, allow passengers to get in and out more easily, and have a smoother ride.

3.minority n．少数民族，少数(the smaller in number of two groups constituting a whole)

词根记忆：来自minor(a．较小的)

例：Minority graduates are nearly four times as likely as other graduates to plan on practicing in socioeconomically deprived areas.

4.mint v.铸造(to make out of metal)

例：The government mints coins from silver, nickel, copper and zinc.

5.minus prep.减去(reduced by)；a．减的；负的(negative)

词根记忆：min（小）+us--减小--减法

注意：plus(v.加)：multiply(v.乘)；divide(v.除)

例：Seven minus four is three.

例：Oceans water warmed by the Sun rises high into the atmosphere and condenses in tiny droplets on minute particles of dust.

7.miraculous a．不可思议的，奇迹的(of the nature of a miracle)

词根记忆：mirac(奇迹)+uI+ous(…的)--奇迹的

例：For many people, household labor remains demanding although they could afford household appliances their grandparents would find miraculous.

派生词:miraculously( ad.奇迹般地)

8.miscarriage n．流产(spontaneous expulsion of a human fetus before it is viable and especially between the 12th and 28th weeks of gestation)；失败：误送 ( corrupt or incompetent management)

例：The herbicide Oryzalin was still being produced in 1979, three years after the wives of workers producing the chemical in Rensselaer, New York, were found either to have had miscarriages or to have borne children with heart defects; none of the pregnancies was normal.

9.mishap n.不幸，坏运气（bad luck, an unfortunate accident）

词根记忆：mis(坏)+hap（运气）--运气不好--不幸，坏运气

例：The journey went off without mishap.
