divide, separate
这两个动词都有分开的意思。
divide v.分开，划分，指把整体分成若干部分，也表示疏远的意思，常用结构为dividefrom。
The huge corporation divided into smaller companies.这家大公司分成了一些较小的公司。
separate v.作及物动词时，意思是分隔，指把原来连接在一起或靠近的东西分隔开来，常用结构为separatefrom作不及物动词时，表示分散，分别。
