2015考研英语词汇：有关雾霾的词汇你知道多少

　　随着十一国庆长假结束，天气骤然变冷，恼人的雾霾也在全国多地复工。小伙伴们，你那里雾霾了吗?10月8日傍晚，北京启动今年下半年首个空气重污染预警，等级黄色，预计未来三天将持续5级重度污染状态。你做好防护措施了没?

　　英文中，雾霾可以用haze表示。雾霾天气则可译为hazy weather。例：The hazy weather would continue until Wednesday in Beijing, local meteorologists said. 除了有雾霾的意思，haze作名词还有薄雾，迷糊的意思;另外作动词时还有变模糊、戏弄的意思。

　　你知道fog和haze的区别吗?二者的区别为：雾的相对湿度一般在90%以上，而霾在80%以下，但通常两者并存。能见度在1公里以下的称为雾，1公里以上但小于10公里的属于灰霾现象。

　　防颗粒物口罩的用途是帮助减少空气中可吸入颗粒物进入人体呼吸系统。

　　The intended use of a respirator is to help reduce the wearers exposure to airborne particles that could be inhaled and enter the human respiratory system.

　　在美国，防颗粒物口罩必须根据其呼吸防护的有效性，来获得美国国家职业安全卫生研究所的鉴定认证。最常见的一种便是NIOSH N95口罩，它可以过滤掉95%的直径介于0.1至0.3微米之间的微粒。也就是说这种口罩可以有效过滤灰尘、花粉以及PM2.5。

　　In the US, to qualify as a certified respirator, the mask must be approved by National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health as to its respiratory protection efficiency. One of the most common respirator masks is NIOSH N95, which filters at least 95 percent of particles with diameters ranging from 0.1 to 0.3 m. That means the respirator is effective against dust, pollen and PM2.5.
