2015考研英语词汇复习：“排行榜”的说法

　　如何说排行榜 有这样一句话：这本书在畅销排行榜上名列前茅。

　　有人翻译为This book ranks first on the ranking list of best-sellers.。

　　其实list of best-sellers自身已经有序列的含义，ranking作为形容词意思是高级别的，用在这里是累赘，与rank first重复，应该删去。

　　因此这句话只要翻译为This book ranks first on the list of best-sellers.就可以了。

　　排行榜可以翻译成list，畅销书排行榜则是best-seller list, list of best-sellers, list of best-selling books。

　　例如The bookstore publishes a list of best sellers regularly.

　　名列首位可以用to come first, to rank first, to be ranked first来表示。

　　英语chart的意思是销售图表，pop charts是流行歌曲排行榜，music charts则是流行音乐排行榜。例如Radio stations usually play songs that are top of the charts.

　　奖牌排行榜可以翻译为medal rankings, medal standings, medal tally, medal table.。例如The Chinese Diving Team has maintained their leading position in the medal rankings.
