Besides there are three other worthwhile programs on: a documentary on underwater swimming, half an hours sports review and an episode of a mystery serial play.

　　Tom: But a film can make everything more exciting and vivid and the darkness cuts out human surroundings completely.

　　Jerry: But you cant choose your program and its a waste of money to walk out if youre bored. Its so easy to turn off the TV - not that I do turn it off very often.

　　Tom: Thats just it. Youre drugged by it: youve given up all your old interests. Thats why I wont have a TV. I still have time to read, invite friends in for a chat or sometimes go to concerts or the cinema or theatre.
