2015年职称英语考试词汇精析篇：形容词

　　1.形容词在句中的主要作用：

　　(1)定语：

　　The masses have boundless creative power. 人民群众有无限的创造力。

　　(2)表语：

　　The acting was superb . 演出精彩极了。

　　(3)宾补：

　　Who left the door open?谁没关门?

　　(4)状语：

　　He spent seven days in the wind and snow, cold and hungry. 他又冷又饿地在风雪中过了七天。

　　2.形容词的比较级和最高级

　　英语中的形容词，在表示比较和最这样的概念时，要用特别的形式，称为比较级和最高级，与之相对，原来的形式称为原级。

　　形容词的比较级和最高级主要有下面两种构成方法：

　　(1)单音节词和少数双音节词(如以y结尾的)以加词尾-er，-est的方式构成。

　　3.形容词原级、比较级、最高级的使用

　　(1)原级主要用在asas(和一样地)和not so as(不及)的结构中：

　　He is as energetic as a young man . 他象年轻人那样有劲。

　　She is not so talkative as before . 她不象过去那样爱说话了。

　　(2)比较级一般用来表示比更一些，通常用一个由连词than引起的状语从句来表示和什么相比。

　　Now we speak more English than we did last term. 现在我们讲英语比上学期要多。

　　(3)形容词的最高级在使用时，前面通常要加定冠词，并有一个短语或从句表示在哪个范围内情况如此：

　　Autumn is the best season in Beijing. 秋天是北京最好的季节。

　　Of all the students, he is the tallest. 在所有的学生中，他的个子最高。

　　This is the largest factory that I have ever seen. 这是我所见过的最大的一家工厂
