主动语态表示变动意义之二

依拉德斯的结论是：只是当主语具有某种内在品质，可以促进、妨碍或阻止谓语表示的概念得以实现时，才能用这类结构。（即前面所说的主动态表示被动意义的结构）依拉德斯的这种解释颇有道理，可以适用于以上一切例子。
Eg. The door won't lock. （门锁不上）说明门本身有毛病，这与通常的被动态所表示的含义不同，就是说The door will not be locked并非说门本身有问题而锁不上，而是指某人不会锁门，或者在说话人看来门是不会被锁上的。
以上说明告诉我们，上述结构不仅与不及物动词有关，而且与主语有关，不及物动词的主语通常指物，并且兼起动作执行者的作用，这种主动结构与其相对应的被动结构不代表同一个意思。
