German bull flees abattoir
BERLIN (Reuters) - A bull primed for slaughter escaped and caused a two-hour, seven-mile traffic jam after bounding onto a busy German motorway and repeatedly vaulting the safety barrier.
The bull was aggressively running up and down aimlessly, leaping back and forth over the barrier and evading all police attempts at encirclement, said a spokeswoman for police in the western city of Muenster on Wednesday. We don't know how it escaped.
After police cordoned off the road, frustrated and alarmed drivers looked on until vets managed to tranquillise the animal. Police then shot it dead.
It would have got the chop anyway, said the spokeswoman.
为自由而战的公牛
柏林（路透社）－一只逃跑的待屠宰的公牛跳上了德国最繁忙的高速公路，并在隔离墩上跳来跳去，进而造成了近两小时、七公里长的交通拥堵。星期三芒斯特西部城市的一名警方发言人声称：这头公牛毫无目的地乱闯，在隔离墩上反复的跳跃，躲避警方的围捕。我们不知道它是如何逃离的。警方用警戒线围起了公路，受阻的司机们只能等待观望，直到赶来的兽医设法使动物安静下来，于是警方射杀了这只公牛。警方的女发言人说：无论如何，它也难逃一死的。
