　　小议It is + time + clause

　　　　It is + time + clause是英语中一个常用句型，也是高考必须把握的热点和难点，现归纳如下：

　　　　一、用在when引导的定语从句中， 其功能相当于一个由并列连词连接的分句

　　　　例 It was October the thirty-first when we went to Beijing. =It was October the thirty-first and on that day we went to Beijing.我们是12月31号去的北京。

　　　　二、 用在that引导的强调句中。注意时间前介词的应用

　　　　例 It was on October the thirty-first that we went to Beijing.就是在12月31号我们去的北京。

　　　　It is on Saturday when the meeting will be held. 就是在星期六开会。

　　　　三、用在since引导的状语从句中

　　　　例 It is two years since he left his hometown. 他离开家已两年了。

　　　　注：如果是延续动词则表示从这个动作结束。

　　　　例 It is five years since he worked here. 他不在这儿工作已5年了。

　　　　四、 用在before引导的状语从句中。这是一个常用句式，常译成以后

　　　　例 It will be five years before we meet again. 五年后我们再见面。

　　　　It will be at least three years before he forget about it. 至少3年后他才会忘记这件事。

　　　　五、 和 until连用， 用于强调表示时间的名词和时间状语，可用It was not until that 句型，意为直到 才 ，需注意not的位置

　　　　例 It was not until the 1950s that black people were denied the vote in the US.直到20世纪50年代 美国黑人才获得选举权。

　　　　It was not until his mother came back that the boy stopped crying. 直到妈妈回来，这个小男孩才不哭了。

　　　　六、 It is time +过去式

　　　　例 It is （high） time we went to bed.我们该睡觉了。

　　　　It is time I went to pick up my child. 我该去接孩子了。
