　　Require

　　to need something; to depend on somebody or something 需要;有赖于 [动词]

　　1. These pets require a lot of care and attention.

　　这些宠物需要悉心照料。

　　2. Please call if you require assistance.

　　如果需要帮忙，请打电话。

　　3. This job will require a lot of hard work.

　　这项工作需要十分努力才能做好。

　　to make somebody do or have something, especially because it is necessary according to a particular law or set of rules 要求，规定，命令 [动词]

　　1. They require that I should go at once.

　　他们要求我立刻去。

　　2. Students are required to attend classes.

　　学生必须按规定上课。

　　3. The wearing of seat belts is required by law.

　　法律规定必须要系安全带。

　　Acquire

　　to gain something by your own efforts or behavior 通过自己的努力获得 [动词]

　　1. She has acquired a good knowledge of English.

　　她英语已经学得很好了。

　　2. We should try to acquire good habits.

　　我们应该努力养成良好的习惯。

　　3. Its important to acquire a foreign language in modern world.

　　现代社会掌握一门外语很重要。

　　【注意】

　　require和acquire发音和拼写相似，极易混淆。虽然同为动词，但是词义有很大不同。

　　require(re+quire)：需要，要求，规定

　　acquire(ac+quire)：获得，取得，得到
