英领馆文化教育处昨天宣布，计算机化考试形式已在开发中，考生将可在纸笔考试的基础上多一个选择。据透露，为保证考生的发挥不受网络连接问题的影响，今后考生参加雅思机考将在考试前先将考题通过互联网下载下来，再在线下答题。雅思考试还将聘用来自美国的命题团队以确保内容的国际化。
同时，据英领馆文化教育处的数据显示，2007年，全球雅思考生将近100万人，而中国的雅思考生已超20万人，全年中国雅思考生总数增长了57%。为满足中国对雅思考试不断增长的需求，今年雅思主办方还将在华东地区增设新考点。
