趋势1：考试内容国际化元素更丰富
针对未来考试的发展趋势，石亮透露：IELTS考试已经是很成熟的一种水平考试，因此不会有大的变动，难度会维持现有的水平不变。从今年开始，考试设计的队伍中增加了来自美国的语言专家，未来IELTS考试的国际化元素会更加丰富。
趋势2：广深每月至少两场考试
就中国的市场而言，史哲明预计，在现有与移民政策没有大的变动的前提下，IELTS考生的人数将继续走高。在已公布的2008年考试日期安排中，主办方安排了共计46个考试日期，广州和深圳则将保持每月至少两场的考试频率，考生可以通过官方网站选择就近的考点报名参加。主办方将密切留意考生报名情况，适时增加考试名额，酌情增开新的考点，以最大程度满足考生的考试需求。从10月开始，考生就可以报考08年的考试。
据介绍，由于考位有限，有计划参加考试的人士需要及早报名。另外，由于举办奥运会，北京在明年8月份只安排了一场考试，时间为8月30日。而其他外地城市的考试安排则不受影响。
