谐音法就是利用英语单词的发音的谐音进行记忆的方法.由于英语是拼音文字,看到一个单词可以很容易地猜到它的发音;听到一个单词的发音也可以很容易地想到它的拼写.所以,如果谐音法使用得当,是最有效的记忆方法,可以真正做到过目不忘.不过,象所有其他的方法一样,谐音法只适用于一部分GRE单词,切忌滥用和牵强.谐音在语言里的使用是相当普遍的,例如中文里讲的年年有鱼,碎碎平安;英语里的2和to,4和for.把谐音用于记忆也是很常见的,特别是用来记忆数字,用得好,可以取得非常好的效果,例如有人把3.14159谐音为山颠一寺一壶酒即是绝佳的记忆实例.
将谐音用于记忆英文单词并加以系统化是本人的一个尝试.谐音法的要点在于由谐音产生的词或词组必须和英语单词的词义之间存在一种平滑的联系.例如:
