Cootie: 时尚的益智游戏
邻居家住进来一位漂亮的美国小朋友。一次聊天，听她说家里有很多“cootie”，当时倍感诧异，字典上不是明明白白写着cootie就是lice（虱子）嘛！肯定是搞错了。后来，查了辞源解析，才搞清楚cootie原来指的是美国一种比较时尚的“益智游戏”。
看一下上面这幅图片，圆滚滚的卡通头上长有两根触角、长长的肚子下藏着六条腿，这就是cootie的原形了，有点像我们小时候玩的毛毛虫。不过，这些可爱的小怪物，可全是后来一点点组装而成的，它们是学龄儿童必不可少的益智游戏。 字典上把cootie解释成“虱子”也没错，但这种用法现在已不常用，若您确实想形容那些寄生在人身上或头上的小虫虫，最好用lice。Cootie（虱子）最早源于一战，当时在士兵之间流传，据说源于马来西亚词汇“kuku”（虱子），但现在它多指孩子玩的“益智游戏”或钥匙串上挂的“小装饰”。
