You're in a hurry, waiting in line to checkout and something happens to slow the line down. The customer in front of you has brought 20 items to a 12 item express lane, a price check is needed and no one is around to do it, the computer system goes down, etc. It's enough to make your blood boil.
Here comes the checkout rage or checkout line rage, which refers to extreme anger caused by a perceived wrongdoing or a lengthy wait in the supermarket checkout line.
