A: I am so heavy-hearted that people here today did not get a chance to say goodbye to their dear friend who passed away in such tragic circumstances.
B: Yes, we are all unhappy about this. Life can be so wretched at times.
A: But we must find the strength to go on.
B: Yes, but it is hard to be strong when you are broken-hearted.

A: 今天在这儿的人们连和他们惨死的朋友道别的机会都没有，我的心情很沉痛。

heavy-hearted: 心情沉重地；情绪低落的；沮丧的。
pass away: 死，去世。
tragic: 悲惨的；可悲的；悲哀的。
unhappy: 不愉快的；不幸福的。
wretched: 不幸的；可怜的；苦恼的。
at times: 有时；间或。
go on: 继续下去。
broken-hearted: 因为悲哀而心碎的；极其伤心的。
