【迷你小对话1】

A: I wished you hadn’t cancelled our membership to the sports club. I wanted to go swimming.
B: What’s the diff? A new club has opened up the road. It’s cheaper and has much better sporting facilities.

A: 我多希望你没有取消我们在体育俱乐部的会员资格。我想去游泳。
B: 这有什么大不了的？这条路上又新开了一家俱乐部。那里更便宜，而且运动设施更好。

【迷你小对话2】

A: Catherine seems like a nice girl, but I heard some bad things about her past.
B: I don’t give a hoot about what you think. I’m going to ask her to be my girlfriend.

A: Catherine看起来是个不错的女孩，但是我听到一些关于她过去的不好传闻。
B: 随你怎么想。我打算让她做我女朋友。

【语言点精讲】

membership: 会员资格。
What’s the diff? : 这是个反问句，不需要回答。意思是尽管有不同的选择，但是这些选择彼此之间没有什么区别。diff是difference的口语表达。
facility: 设施。
don’t give a hoot: 这是个俚语表达，相当于 “I don’t care. hoot指的是猫头鹰的叫。
