I’m worried about gaining weight.

(我担心长胖。)

(大家都一样。)

gaining weight “体重增加”。be worried about ... “为……烦恼”、 “担心……”。

带有“我们也很在意体重”的含义。这里并不是说要参加哪个地方的俱乐部。

Gaining weight is a big worry for me.

I’m concerned about weight gain.

be concerned about ... “担心……”、 “操心……”。

我一般不吃早饭。

I usually skip breakfast.

(我一般不吃早饭。)

That’s not very good for you.

(那样对你身体不好。)

日常会话中常用的说法。skip “略过”。

I don’t usually eat breakfast.

I don’t often take time for breakfast.

take time for ... “拿出时间……”。

我很快就要50岁了。

I’ll be fifty soon.

(我很快就要50岁了。)

You look great for your age.

(你比实际年龄看起来年轻。)

soon “很快”、 “不久”。

great是“好极了”的意思， 但是这里指“年轻”。这里的for指“相对于……”。

I’m about to turn fifty.

be about to ... “即将……”。turn “达到”。

My fiftieth birthday is coming up.

(我50岁的生日就快到了。)

come up “接近”。

I’m going on fifty.

I’ll be turning fifty soon.

你是什么血型?

What’s your blood type?

(你是什么血型?)

I have type A blood. How about you?

(我是A型。你呢?)

blood type “血型”。很多美国人对自己的血型都不关心。

What blood type are you?

Are you aware of your blood type?

(你知道你的血型吗?)

be aware of ... “注意到……”、 “知道……”。

Do you know your blood type?

(你知道你的血型吗?)
