be fed up with ... “腻烦做……”。listen to ... “听……”。what he says “他说的话”。

I’m sick and tired of listening to him.

be sick and tired of ... “对……极为厌烦”。

I can’t bear to listen to him anymore.

(他的话我再也不想听了。)

bear to ... “忍耐……”。anymore在否定句中表示“再也”。

他对客户很不礼貌。

He’s not attentive to his client.

(他对客户很不礼貌。)

He’s a rude man.

(他为人粗鲁。)

attentive to ... “对……有礼貌的”、 “关心……”。client “客户”、 “顾客”。

He doesn’t know how to be a good host.

He’s a poor host.

(他待人接物很差。)

她太敏感了。

Mary got angry when she was teased.

(玛丽遭到取笑后很生气。)

She’s very sensitive.

(她太敏感了。)

tease “取笑”、 “逗弄”。

She’s very thin-skinned.

thin-skinned “敏感的”、 “容易生气的”。

She’s a sensitive person.

他像小羊羔一样温顺。

He’s as meek as a lamb.

(他像小羊羔一样温顺。)

He needs to toughen up.

(他应该强硬起来。)

meek “逆来顺受的”、 “顺从的”。lamb “小羊”， b 不发音。

toughen up “变坚强”、 “变强硬”。

He’s a pushover.

(他很容易被劝服。)

pushover “容易劝服的人”。

He’s very shy.

(他非常害羞。)
