JOHANNESBURG, Oct. 11 -- Midfielder Kagisho Dikgacoi is expected to be passed fit to play some role for Crystal Palace in their English Championship clash with Watford on Saturday.
The Bafana Bafana international has not featured for his side since mid-August after injuring himself while playing in an unfamiliar right-wing position against Coventry City.
It was a blow for both club and country, with Palace's thin squad tested, and Bafana Bafana coach Pitso Mosimane unable to call on him for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Niger and Sierra Leone.
The injury took longer than expected to heal, with an initial prognosis of six weeks which would have seen him return by the end of September.
However, club medics decided to take a cautious approach and kept him in light training for two weeks extra to make sure the injury was completely healed.
It is likely that he will start from the bench against Watford this weekend and be eased back into action during a busy program for Palace, who play seven games in 22 days, a run that includes a League Cup fourth round tie with Southampton, and matches against compatriots Bongani Khumalo (Reading) and Aaron Mokoena (Portsmouth).
Palace, who fought relegation last season, have made a mixed start to the campaign and currently sit in 12th position in the Championship, just three points off the promotion play-off places.
