BEIJING, July 19 (Xinhuanet) -- David Beckham has posted a video on his Facebook page to share his joy of having a new baby girl Harper Seven Beckham in the house.
In the video, the footballer said: "Having a daughter is a whole new thing.
"Having pink in the house and lilac. You have to be more delicate with girls than boys and I am not used to that.
"You know it is a whole new experience but an amazing one. To have a bundle of joy in your hands, making those little noises.
"It really is an incredible moment for us."
And the 36-year-old father explained how the couple chose the name. He said: "Harper is an old English name which we loved.
"Victoria's favourite book is To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee - it is a passionate strong book.
"And seven - a lot of people assume seven is my shirt number. Part of it is but that was not the main reason.
"It symbolises spiritual perfection, the seven wonders of the world, seven colours of the rainbow and in many countries around the world it is regarded as lucky."
Since welcoming the latest addition to his growing brood on July 10, David Beckham has wasted no time showing off his fatherly pride.
He posted on Sunday a black-and-white photo showing Harper and her mother, Victoria Beckham, dozing away while doting Dad snapped the shot. He captioned it: "I took this picture of my two girls sleeping."
His team LA Galaxy played Real Madrid on Saturday and he wore pink-striped boots with the names of all four of his children emblazoned on the side.
Harper was born on July 10, to Beckham and former Spice Girl and fashion designer, Victoria. Their new daughter joins brothers, Brooklyn, 12 years-old, Romeo 8 and Cruz 6.
