　　1. 用作动词，注意以下短语：

　　(1) deal with 意为“处理、“对付、“对待、“论述、“做买卖等。如：

　　How shall we deal with this matter? 这事我们怎么处理?

　　I don’t know how to deal with him. 我不知怎样与他相处。

　　He often deals with that shop. 他经常在那家商店买东西。

　　We have no time to deal with such details. 我们没有时间来讨论这种细节问题。

　　(2) deal in 意为“做……买卖、“出售、“经营。如：

　　The shop deals in furniture. 这家商店经营家具。

　　We deal in hardware but not software. 我们只经营硬件而不经营软件。

　　(3) deal out 意为“分给、“分配。如：

　　The food must be dealt out fairly. 这食物必须公平分配。

　　The Red Cross dealt food to hungry soldiers. 红十字会把食物分发给饥饿的士兵。

　　2. 用作名词，注意两条短语：

　　(1) a great [good] deal of 意为“许多，其后通常接不可数名词(包括动名词)。如：

　　He spent a great deal of money on it. 他为此花了很多钱。

　　He’s done a great deal of travelling. 他旅游了很多地方。

　　(2) a great [good] deal, 可用作主语、宾语、状语(修饰动词分词或比较级等)。如：

　　He smokes a great deal. 他抽烟很厉害。

　　He was a good deal surprised. 他非常吃惊。

　　I’ve heard a great deal about it. 对此事我听说了不少。

　　He knew a great deal more than I did. 他懂的比我比得多。

　　At the end of the year there was a great deal to do. 年底有很多事要做。
