RIO DE JANEIRO, June 5 -- Internacional tasted the flavor of first win this season as they stormed to a 4-2 away win against America-MG on Sunday in the third round of the 2011 Brazilian Championship.
Internacional dominated the first half of the match. The team scored its first goal in the 13th minute when Cavenaghi followed up Oscar's shot, tapping the ball past keeper Flavio.
D'Alessandro increased his team's lead in the 15th minute, completing a great pass from Ze Roberto. Oscar scored his team's third goal in the 21st minute.
America-MG returned to the second half determined and much more organized. The home team's efforts amounted to a goal in the 55th minute off Rodriguinho.
However, Internacional's Oscar calmed the America-MG fans' hope of a comeback, scoring his second goal for Inernacional just minutes after. America-MG's Alessandro scored the game's last goal in the 84th minute.
In the next round of play, America-MG will travel to face Avai on June 11. On the following day, Internacional will receive Palmeiras.
