GUIYANG, SOUTHWEST CHINA, May 23 -- Beijing Olympic boxing gold medalist Zou Shiming of China said here on Monday that he looks for new challenge before the London Olympic Games.
"I say this not because I'm blowing my own horn," said the first-ever Chinese boxer who won an Olympic gold medal. "Always winning in the games can really flush one's mind with dangerous illusion."
Zou, 30, admitted he could be challenged by a lot of top boxers in lighter categories around the world. After four years from the Beijing Olympics, Zou's confidence and expierence reached a brand new peak. Yet he was worried about his physical fitness.
"My body went through tough tests along these years. So I can't promise to be as good as before. But my hunt for the gold medal will never stop," said Zou, also a twice world champion.
Zou will compete attend China Open boxing champion to be held at China's southwestern city Guyang here from May 29 to June 3.
