BERLIN, April 25 -- Hertha Berlin climb into German Bundesliga, the first division, three days before the end of season 2010/2011 thanks to the winner from striker Adrian Ramos over Duisburg on Monday.
Berlin staged a faultless but unspectacular performance against Duisburg thanks to their well-positioned defense. Duisburg were unable to overcome Berlins defense so that the guests opened the scoring through striker Adrian Ramos who netted the only goal of the match with 27 minutes into the match.
The victory hived second division leaders Berlin into first division after only one season in second division thanks to 12- point gap to third position.
"It was a damn hard year, but in the end we are all happy that we have made it back into first division," Hertha BSC manager Michael Preetz said.
Coach Markus Babbel added: "I am incredibly pleased for the team that they have been rewarded for their hard work."
