SHANGHAI, April 15 -- Sebastian Vettel remained atop at second free practice of the the Chinese Grand Prix Formula One here on Friday.
After leading Friday's opening practice round in China, the reigning World Champion and Formula One points leader remained atop the heap in second round.
"We had a good day today, but it's only Friday and so it's early in the race weekend," said Vettel after the second practice.
Vettel, who dominated the first two Grand Prix in Melbourne and Malaysia and aiming this weekend to make it three wins in as many starts for the 2011 season, showed a perfect run with a lap of one hour 37.688 minutes in his heralded Red Bull RB7.
"We found a good rhythm and we are happy with the car. There's still a lot to do and I think it will be tight tomorrow and on Sunday, so we'll look where we can improve. But, today we had no big issues," said Vettel.
Vettel's Red Bull teammate Mark Webber ranked second in the first practice but only got 10th after the second with a time of 1:39.327.
"I din't have the best P2, particularly on the short run with the new tyres, but the long run on the option tyre was good. Generally it was a good Friday, we learned a lot and the car was reliable," said Webber.
McLaren teammates Lewis Hamilton, who clocked 1:37:854 and Jenson Button (1:37:935) held the second and third positions respectively.
Mercedes mates Nico Rosberg and Michael Schumacher rounded out the top five.
