HANGZHOU, Southeast China, March 30 -- Thanks to Josh Akognon's 43 points, Dongguan rallied to beat Zhejiang Guangsha 97-89 on Wednesday to advance to the semifinals of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league with 3-1 on aggregation.
The 25-year-old Akognon scored the game high while former NBA player Courtney Sims added 20 points for Dongguan.
The game was very close before the decisive fourth quarter. Zhejiang led by two points after two similar quarters with the same 21-20 on the score board in the first half. They widened the gap to five points at the end of the third quarter.
However, in the last quarter, Dongguan's two internationals showed the magnificent performance.
Akognon made three 3-pointers in the quarter, and Sims became a dominator in the paint, making all of the five attempts.
