今天妈妈给了我一粒胖大海的种子。它表面凹凸不平，又干又皱，像一个长满色的皱纹的小老头。它的颜色是棕色的，胖大海的大小和花生差不多。我还有一个问题呢！就是它一点儿也不胖呀，为什么叫胖大海呢？老妈说；“动手做个实验就知道了。”妈妈先给了我一个装着半杯热水的杯子，让我把那皱皱巴巴的胖大海放在水里。我仔细地观察了一会儿，发现胖大海不再是以前那个干枯的小老头了，已经变成了一个盛开的花朵了。胖大海就是应该有这个响当当的名字。
