BERLIN, March 16 -- German Bundesliga team Schalke dismissed magaer and coach Felix Magath as of now, the club announced on Wednesday after an extraordinary session.
After a long back and forth, Schalke finally decided to fire Felix Magath even though the club reached DFB Pokal (German Cup) final and UEFA Champions League quarterfinals.
"From the perspective of the FC Schalke 04, there are very good reasons for this separation. We will not communicate them to the public, because now a legal process is ahead. It is a great result for Schalke," Schalke chairman Clemens Toennies said after the decision.
Magath came in 2009 to Schalke to reform the club but the board and the fans viewed all his renewals critically.
