LONDON, March 22 -- Arsenal centre-half Johan Djourou will be sidelined for four weeks due to a shoulder injury, the club said on Tuesday.
The Swiss international has undergone exploratory surgery on his shoulder, which was dislocated during the Gunners recent FA Cup defeat to Manchester United.
There had been initial concerns that the injury had ended Djourou's season. However the club said in a statement Tuesday the defender would return to training next month.
"The club can confirm the positive news that there isn't a need for reconstructive surgery and he will now begin a period of rehabilitation on the shoulder before returning to training in around a month," it said.
