全球游客数或锐减八成

The number of international tourist arrivals will drop by 60-80% in 2020 due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, the World Tourism Organization said.

世界旅游组织表示，受新冠肺炎疫情影响，今年国际游客人数将减少六至八成。

Widespread travel restrictions and the closure of airports and national borders to curb the spread of the virus had plunged international tourism into its worst crisis since records began in 1950, the UN tourism body said in a statement.

该联合国旅游机构在一份声明中称，为遏制病毒传播，多国实施旅行限制、关闭机场和边境等措施，使全球旅游业陷入自上世纪五十年代有记录以来的最大危机。

Tourist arrivals dropped by 22% in the first quarter of the year, and by 57% in March alone, with Asia and Europe suffering the biggest declines.

今年一季度全球旅游人数下降22%，仅3月一个月就下降了57%，其中亚洲和欧洲的游客规模减少幅度最大。

"The world is facing an uNPRecedented health and economic crisis. Tourism has been hit hard, with millions of jobs at risk in one of the most labor-intensive sectors of the economy," said Zurab Pololikashvili, secretary-general of the tourism body.

世界旅游组织秘书长祖拉布·波洛利卡什维利表示，全球正面临一场史无前例的健康和经济危机，作为劳动密集程度最高的产业之一的旅游业已遭受重创，数以百万计的工作岗位岌岌可危。
