SANTA FE, Argentina, Feb. 28 -- Boca Juniors scored four second-half goals to defeat Colon 4-0 on Friday - their fifth straight victory in the Argentinian Superliga.
Guillermo Fernandez gave the visitors the lead in the 56th minute and Eduardo Salvio made it 2-0 after a defence-splitting run from Sebastian Villa.
Veteran forward Carlos Tevez then fired in his fifth goal in as many Superliga outings before Ramon Abila completed the rout with a spectacular volley five minutes from time.
The result moved Boca to the top of the 24-team standings, ahead of rivals River Plate on goal difference. The latter will have the chance to regain the lead when they host Defensa y Justicia on Saturday.
In Friday's only other match, Newell's Old Boys held defending champions Racing Club to a 1-1 draw away from home.
