体坛英语资讯：German Vinzenz Geiger wins over Riiber again in Val di Fiemme at Nordic Combined World Cup

ROME, Jan. 11 -- Vinzenz Geiger saw off Jarl Magnus Riiber again this season after the first win in Ramsau, Austria. The German crossed the finish line 0.4 seconds ahead of Riiber in the Individual Gundersen event at the FIS Nordic Combined World Cup in Val di Fiemme, Italy on Saturday.

Riiber managed to claim the second place. Joergen Graabak finished third over Fabian Riessle by 0.6 seconds from photo finish.

In the jumping event, Riiber secured top place with a jump of 106m and a total of 145.1 points, which meant he started his race 22 seconds ahead of the second-placed Manuel Faisst (100m; 139.5 points). Jens Luraas Oftebro claimed third with 99m and 137.3 points, and his teammate Espen Bjoernstad followed.

As to the cross-country race, Riiber started alone in first lap but he was not in the same shape as yesterday. Vinzenz Geiger and Lukas Klapfer stayed close to Riiber and took the lead alternately. Riiber had to battle the large pursuing group of Graabak, Geiger, Riessle and Jens Oftebro for the podium.

Geiger followed Graabak and Riiber into the downhill, and used the wind shield to reach the finish with ease. Riiber stayed behind Geiger. Joergen Graabak beat Fabian Riessle to rank third.
