MADRID, Jan. 3 -- Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane on Friday confirmed that Eden Hazard will be out of action for at least another week as he struggles to recover from the ankle injury he picked up in his side's Champions League tie with Paris Saint Germain in November.
Speaking ahead of his side's La Liga game away to Getafe, Zidane said Hazard would not return this weekend and that he was "100% out of the Spanish Super Cup," which will be held in Saudi Arabia next week.
"He isn't going to travel and for now he's continuing with his recovery. Hopefully when we get back from the Super Cup we'll start seeing him back with us bit by bit," said Zidane.
Madrid have struggled to score in recent matches, with just one goal from their last three games (against Valencia) and 0-0 draws against both FC Barcelona and Athletic Club Bilbao, but the coach said he wasn't worried by the drought.
"There are times when you have chances and don't take them, and that's what has happened to us in recent games. We have to be relaxed about it and we have get back amongst the goals," he said.
He also insisted it wouldn't be a disaster if his side failed to win any titles this current season after they ended last season empty-handed as well.
"At the end of the day, there can only be one winner in La Liga, one winner in the Champions League, but that doesn't mean all the other teams are dummies," commented Zidane, who was looking forward to returning to action after the short Christmas break.
"We've come back in good shape and we are looking forward to playing again. Our motivation is high," he concluded.
