BEIJING, Dec. 31 -- Veteran goalkeeper Yang Zhi will end his 14-year career with Beijing Guoan, the capital team confirmed on Tuesday.
Yang, who will turn 37 next month, joined Guoan in 2005. In his 14-season stay, he kept 173 clean sheets in 418 appearances, helping Guoan win the Chinese Super League Champion in 2009 and the Chinese Football Association Cup in 2018.
Due to the injury and age, Yang didn't feature even one game in the recent two seasons. Guoan didn't extend the contract with him as his original one was due to expire on December 31.
According to Guoan, they are preparing a ceremony for him while Yang has not decided his future yet.
