TEHRAN, May 31 -- Iran's Persepolis soccer team qualified for the AFC Champions League quarterfinal on Wednesday, Tasnim news agency reported.
Chico Flores' own goal handed the Iranian side a 1-0 victory over Lekhwiya in the second leg of the last 16. Last week, Persepolis and Lekhwiya played to a goalless draw in the first leg in Tehran.
In another AFC second leg match of the Round 16, Iran's Esteghlal Khuzestan suffered 2-1 defeat against Saudi's Al Hilal.
Al Hilal thus secured its place in the AFC Champions League quarterfinals after the Saudi side run out 4-2 winners on aggregate.
