TEHRAN, June 6 -- Iran's Persepolis soccer team was drawn with Saudi Arabia's Al-Ahli in the 2017 AFC Champions League quarterfinals, Tehran Times daily reported on Tuesday.
Persepolis will face Al-Ahli on August 22 in the first leg and will play the Saudi Arabian team on September 12 in the second leg.
Al-Ain of the United Arab Emirates will meet Saudi Arabia's Al-Hilal in another quarters from West Asia.
Meanwhile in East Asia, China's Shanghai SIPG will come up against domestic rivals and two-time AFC Champions League winners Guangzhou Evergrande, while Kawasaki Frontale of Japan have been drawn to face compatriots and 2007 winners Urawa Red Diamonds.
