LUOYANG, China, Aug. 17 -- Li Lu from Sichuan province wins women's Kayak single in whitewater slalom with 116.58 seconds at the 13th Chinese National Games on Thursday in central China's Yiyang county.
Li Lu, 25, won the champion of women's Kayak single in 2017 Canoe/Kayak Slalom World Cup in London, but she never won the title at past two National Games.
"The results of preliminary rounds and semifinal were not good, I tried my best to change and make the best performance in the final," Li Lu said.
Ren Ye from Shandong province won a silver medal with 121.10 seconds, and Li Tong from Hubei province got bronze medal with 122.30 seconds.
In the men's Canoe double, Ye Yongtao and Huang Yongze beat the champions in Guangzhou Asian Games, Hu Haiming and Shu Junrong, to win the gold medal with 116.90 seconds.
"The biggest goal in my heart realized, I'm so excited. We did our best in final although our performance in semifinal was not good," Huang Yongze said, they never entered the first three in past two National Games.
Hu Haiming and Shu Junrong from Guangdong province won a silver medal with 122.94 seconds, Yu Hongmin and Chen Jin from Hubei province got bronze medal with 123.02 seconds.
The 13th Chinese National Games will officially run from Aug. 27 to Sept. 8 in Tian Jin, but Canoe/Kayak Slalom events held in Yiyang, a little county in central China's Henan province.
