BEIJING, Jan. 21 -- With Guo Ailun's layup in last 20 seconds, Liaoning edged Shanxi 106-105 to get a three-game winning streak in the 29th round action of the 2017-2018 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Sunday.
Liaoning led 4 points after the first quarter, but was reversed by visiting Shanxi in the second quarter and Shanxi extended the lead to 9 points after the third quarter.
In last 20 seconds, Guo Ailun scored the last basket and left only 3 seconds to Shanxi.
Guo Ailun scored team-high 25 points for the host, Han Dejun got 24 points and 11 rebounds. Argentine Luis Scola, former player of Houston Rockets in NBA, scored game-high 33 points and 10 rebounds for Shanxi, Xing Zhiqiang got 17 points.
Although Yi Jianlian scored game-high 40 points and 14 rebounds, the host Guangdong was still defeated by Shandong 110-113.
Guangdong and Shandong tied in the first quarter with 24-24, but Guangdong lost 11 points in the second quarter and never filled the gap till the end.
With the victory, Shandong recovered perfectly from two consecutive losses. American Ty Lawson got team-high 32 points and Lithuanian Donatas Motiejunas scored 27 points. Zhou Peng got second-high 20 points for Guangdong.
Elsewhere, defending champion Xinjiang smashed Jiangsu 139-119, Shanghai beat Fujian 112-105, Shenzhen defeated Tianjin 108-97, Guangsha smashed Bayi 125-91, Guangzhou beat Qingdao 121-113, Tongxi beat Sichuan 120-111.
