BRATISLAVA, Sept. 17 -- Belgium breezed past Slovakia 3-0 (25-23, 25-20, 25-15) on Tuesday to remain atop Pool B of the men's European Volleyball Championship in Antwerp, Belgium.
Slovakia managed to keep up with the pool leaders only in the first set while the home team controled the remaining two sets.
Slovakia's veteran setter Juraj Zatko started in his 242nd match for the national team, setting a new Slovak record, becoming also the first to play at six European Championships for Team Slovakia.
Slovakia are third with five points from two wins and two losses in Pool B. Four teams from each of the four pools will advance to the playoff stage. As both Belgium and second-placed Serbia have already secured a spot, the Slovaks will fight for a playoff spot on Wednesday against tough opponents, last year's silver medalists Germany.
