ALGIERS, May 1 -- USM Bel Abbes (USMBA) on Tuesday won the Algerian Cup after beating JS Kabylie (JSK) 2-1 in the final at the 5th July Stadium.
The two goals of USMBA were scored by Belahouel (2', 48'), while Djerrar scored for JSK (55').
This is the second coronation for USMBA which won its first cup in 1991 also against JSK.
Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia handed over the trophy of the Algerian Cup to USMBA's captain Fares Benabderrahmane, under the chants and applauds of thousands of fans who were present at the stadium.
This match took place without any violent clashes between the rival supporters, amid tough security measures that were taken by authorities.
Such measures were meant to avoid the tragic events that marked a game played a couple of weeks ago, in the western province of Constantine, where two supporters at least were reported dead as rival fans violently clashed before and after the game.
