Moscow, May 13 -- Italian coach Roberto Mancini is set to leave Russian top flight side Zenit St Peterburg after last round of this season on Sunday, and reports have said that he will return to his home country to take the reins of the national team.
Zenit club has announced on Sunday that Mancini's contract was terminated by mutual consent after one season.
Italian media have reported that the 53-year-old would be appointed as the head coach of Italy national team next week.
The four-time champions Azzurri failed to qualify for the World Cup in Russia starting next month, which is their first absence in 60 years.
Mancini has won a total of 26 trophies in his career, 13 as a player and also 13 as a manager, including three Italian Serie A titles with Inter Milan and the English Premier League title with Manchster City.
