LONDON, May 22 -- British actor and film producer Hugh Grant is finally getting married for the first time at the age of 57, according to reports.
The veteran bachelor, best known for his roles in "Four Weddings and A Funeral," "Notting Hill" and "Paddington 2," is set to wed his longtime girlfriend Anna Eberstein, a 39-year-old Swedish TV producer, the BBC reported Monday.
Wedding banns for the couple were published at Kensington and Chelsea register office near their 10-million-pound (about 13-million-U.S. dollar) home in West London, The Sun reported.
The official notice of the impending marriage was displayed on screens in the office at Chelsea Old Town Hall, The Sun added.
The wedding is expected to take place later this month, several media reported.
"This is a day none of Hugh's friends ever thought would come," The Sun quoted a source as saying. "He would soon be a pensioner and has finally become a family man."
The news might also come as a shock to his fans, as the Golden Globe Award winner once described marriage as "unromantic" during a radio interview in 2016.
Grant has five children in total, including three with Eberstein and two with former partner Tinglan Hong.
Though he has never married, the actor has been involved in several high-profile relationships. The best known was his 13-year romance with actress and model Liz Hurley before they split in 2000.
