RABAT, Nov. 18 -- RS Berkane claimed their first ever Morocco Football Cup after defeating Wydad Fez on penalties on Sunday.
At Rabat's Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, the game ended with a 2-2 draw after 120 minutes, and Berkane won the shoot-out 3-2.
Berkane took the lead in the 56th minute thanks to Mohammed Ferhane, before Senegalese player Mamadou Diouf equalized for Wydad Fez three minutes later.
Omar Jerrari made it 2-1 for Wydad Fez in the 77th minute, but Laarb Naji tied the score in the last minute of the match.
This was Berkane's first cup after losing the 1987 and 2017 finals.
Berkane have had a brilliant season in 2018. In addition to lifting this Cup, they had a historic run in African Confederation Cup as they managed to top their group before losing in the quarterfinal against Congolese of Vita Club.
