( to continue ) "Knock, knock." said Brian. "Hello, I'm Joseph and this is my wife Mary. We have been traveling all day and we are both very tired. All the other hotels are full. Do you have any room for us at your hotel?"
"I'm sorry sir, but I am completely full too."
"Oh. My wife is very pregnant. She could have the baby very soon. Please, help us!"
"Well, I do have a stable where I keep the animals. It's small, but clean. I just put fresh straw in it this morning. It's all I have."
"Could we see it?"
"Yes."
"Brian, I mean Joseph." giggled Emily, "let's stay here. I'm so sleepy."
"Okay, we'll take it. Mom, I can't remember what happens next." said Brian.
"That night, Jesus is born and His mother wraps Him in some blankets. Do you remember where she puts Him to sleep?" asked Mom.
"In the manger!" said Brian.
"That's right." said Mom. "Now Emily, wrap your doll in the blanket and put it in the manger."
"Okay, Mom." said Emily.
"What happens next?" asked Brian.
"The angel appeared to some men in the field watching sheep. Do you know who they were?" said Mom.
"Shepherds!" said Brian.
"Very good. Now who would like to be the angel?" asked Mom.
"I do!" said Brian.
"No me!" said Emily.
"Emily, let's be the shepherds." said Mom.
"Okay." said Emily.
"Hello shepherds. I am an angel and I bring you good news."
"Brian, pretend you're the angel and put on this white blanket." said Mom. "Do you remember what the angel said?"
"I think so. Hello shepherds. I am an angel and I bring you good news. In Bethlehem, a baby named Jesus was born tonight. He is going to be King over all the earth. You will find Him in a stable sleeping in a manger." ( to be continued)
