NEW YORK, Dec. 30 -- Chinese vocal artist Xiaocao Lin will demonstrate "the irresistible and inimitable charm" of classical Chinese melodies and poetry next Saturday in New York City.
At the invitation of the Renwen Society of China Institute, Lin will also share the stories behind Gu Ge (Ancient Vocal Music) at the Author Talk scheduled from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., on Jan. 5, 2019 in downtown office of the noNPRofit organization dedicated to promotion of U.S.-China cultural exchanges.
Gu Ge (Ancient Vocal Music) is a genre that constitutes part of China's music heritage: ancient poetry set to ancient tunes. These songs are based on classical Chinese music, lyricized with classical Chinese verse and sung by modern vocalists.
